Technical log data of the site and data traffic

Technical log data is collected on the data connections and use of the Tuomioistuimet.fi website, which is needed to transmit communications, implement the service and ensure data security. Log data includes information that can be linked to a person, such as IP address and timestamp. This log data is only used to enable the service in the telecommunications network and to investigate error situations and security incidents.

With regard to log data, the National Courts Administration acts as the controller responsible for the processing of personal data for the general sections and each court for its own website. The Legal Register Centre is responsible for the technical management of log data.

Log data collected for the purpose of monitoring use, disclosure and legality is stored for five years.

The Act on the Provision of Digital Services requires the authorities to ensure data protection and information security in connection with digital services. The General Data Protection Regulation also requires the protection of personal data.
